QUEST FOR LA DOLCE VITA

Terra Sacra was founded by Cristiano and Briana. Cristiano, Italian by birth and palate, grew up surrounded by the everyday standard of true quality food. Briana, American by birth, spent many years traveling the world for both work and pleasure. She settled in Italy in 2012, and here they began their story.

Over the past fourteen years, they have traveled across Italy, from the rolling hills of Tuscany to the sun-kissed coasts of Sicily. Again and again, they encountered something extraordinary: LA DOLCE VITA. At the heart of this sweet life is mangiare, to eat. In an Italian kitchen, true Italian flavor is more than a matter of ingredients it’s a way of life, woven into the culture, the land, and its people.

Every olive grove, every field of wheat, every small workshop they visited told a story of dedication, patience, and respect for this Sacred Place (TERRA SACRA). Italy is home to extraordinary food biodiversity; its geographically diverse regions give way to distinct climate zones, soil diversity and plant species. It is also the birthplace of the Slow Food movement.

Italy and the experiences that it offers inspired them to create TERRA SACRA: a place where the authentic essence of Italy could be shared with the world. We hope everyone can enjoy a bit of La Dolce Vita: enjoying life through family, friends, food and place.

A JOURNEY ROOTED IN QUALITY

Terra Sacra is the result of years of exploration and research across Italy’s most authentic regions. Cristiano and Briana personally visited farms, mills, and family-run laboratories to meet the artisans behind the products. They listened to their stories, learned about their methods, and tasted the results of generations of knowledge passed down with care.

We don’t select products by trend, we select by standards. We seek producers with uncompromised quality: clean ingredients, small-batch production, deep respect for tradition, and farming rooted in sustainability. We prioritize organic methods, heirloom cultivars and practices that protect biodiversity and soil health.

And when a farm is too small to absorb the economic burden of formal certifications (i.e. organic), we don’t compromise, we verify in person. We visit, taste, ask questions and look for real proof in the work itself: how ingredients are grown, harvested, fermented, milled, or preserved. If it doesn’t meet our bar, it doesn’t enter the Terra Sacra family, certification or not.

Only those who embrace Italy’s traditions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability become part of the TERRA SACRA family. Each product is selected following the six guiding principles that define our philosophy: authenticity, craftsmanship, origin, quality, sustainability, and taste.
